These adapters are attached to the top and bottom ends of Ashirvad brand PVC column pipes. Since the thread structure of PVC column pipes differs from standard gas threads, they will not fit when you try to connect the column pipe to a pump or another plumbing component. These adapters are used to convert the column pipe thread into a gas thread for proper connection.
