What is a Hot Environment Fan?
Dündar Hot Environment fans are specially designed centrifugal fans capable of handling temperatures up to 120 degrees. They are used for ventilating and cooling existing environments.
Applications of Hot Environment Fans
- Exhausting hot air in areas with high temperatures
- In duct applications where axial fans fail to meet pressure and flow requirements
Fan Casing and Impeller
- In solid fuel boiler systems
- Ability to discharge higher-temperature air with an intermediate cooling impeller that prevents heat transfer from the radial casing to the motor
- Radial casing made from high-quality cold-drawn steel sheet
- Environmentally friendly and corrosion-resistant electrostatic epoxy powder coating
- Radial impeller with dynamic balancing test according to ISO 1940 standards for forward-looking performance
- High-pressure and flow rates with nozzle application at the inlet
- Robust and smooth casing structure with special joint casing assembly
Motor
- Low Noise Level
- Quality production through high-tech CNC machines, without human intervention
- High heat transfer capacity aluminum framed motor housing
- Insulation class Class F for a wide operating range from -40° to +70°
- Things to Consider in Fan Selection
- When selecting a fan, four parameters must be taken into consideration:
- Required Airflow
- Pressure Losses
- Acceptable Noise Level
The required air change rate for a ventilated space depends on the usage purpose, the number of people and objects inside, and activities within. Below, different environments and their required air change coefficients are provided.
- Electrical Power Connection Type
For normal activity (non-smoking), 29 m³/hour is required per person. For normal activity (smoking), 58 m³/hour is required per person. For light activity, 45 m³/hour is needed per person. For heavy industrial activities, 60 m³/hour is necessary per person.

Based on the provided information, the required airflow is determined as follows:
Q [m³/hour] = Air change coefficient (per hour) * Room volume (m³) or
Q [m³/hour] = Number of people * airflow requirement per person
Once the required airflow is determined, a suitable duct design must be made (taking into account sound and airflow velocity criteria), and pressure losses must be calculated. Depending on the environment in which the fan will operate, the fan type (axial, radial, roof, smoke exhaust, etc.) should be selected, and based on the determined airflow-static pressure pair, the appropriate fan curve should be chosen. To illustrate briefly:
For an office where 5 people work, with a ceiling height of 2.6 meters and a floor area of 50 m², the total volume is 2.6 * 50 = 130 m³. Referring to the air change coefficient table for offices, the value provided is 4-8. Considering 5, 130 * 5 = 650 m³/h airflow is needed. Assuming normal activity, 5 people * 29 m³ = 145 m³ airflow is required. Thus, for the workers, the total airflow needed is 650 + 145 = 795 m³/hour. The fan selection should be made according to this airflow requirement.
