What is a Hot Environment Fan?

Dündar Hot Environment Fans are centrifugal fans specially designed to handle temperatures up to 120°C. They are used for ventilating and cooling the current environment.


Applications of Hot Environment Fans

  • Exhausting hot air in areas with high air temperatures,
  • Duct applications where axial fans are insufficient in terms of pressure and airflow,
  • Solid-fuel heating systems like central heating boilers.

Fan Body and Impeller

  • Enhanced heat resistance with an intermediate cooling impeller preventing heat transfer from the radial body to the motor, enabling hot air evacuation.
  • High-quality radial body made of cold-rolled DKP steel.
  • Corrosion resistance with eco-friendly electrostatic epoxy powder coating.

When selecting a fan, four main parameters should be considered:

The required air exchange for a space depends on the purpose of the environment, the number of people and objects within, and their activity levels. Below is a table of air exchange rates for various environments:

The required airflow (Q) can be calculated as follows:

  • Q [m³/hour] = Air Exchange Rate (per hour) × Room Volume (m³)
    or
  • Q [m³/hour] = Number of People × Airflow per Person

Example Calculation

Consider an office with 5 people, a ceiling height of 2.6 meters, and a floor area of 50 m². The room volume is:
2.6 × 50 = 130 m³

From the air exchange table, the air exchange rate for an office is 4-8. Let’s take 5 as the rate:
130 × 5 = 650 m³/hour

For the people in the office, assuming normal activity:
5 people × 29 m³/hour = 145 m³/hour

The total airflow requirement would be:
650 + 145 = 795 m³/hour


Fan Selection and Installation

After determining the airflow, consider the following:

  • Fan placement: Will the fan be mounted on the ceiling, wall, chimney, or ventilation duct?
  • Electrical connection:
    • For offices, fans are usually mounted on walls or windows. If domestic electricity is used, a single-phase (monophase) fan is preferred.
    • For industrial applications, a three-phase (380 Volt) fan is recommended.
