The general characteristics of magnetic pumps include a rotating impeller contained in a closed housing, supported by a magnetic field produced by magnets. The rotation of the impeller generates a force that feeds the liquid both inside and outside the pump's housing. The primary purpose of the pump is to maintain energy and motion within a liquid.
In magnetic pumps, there are magnets connected to the impeller and motor. Permanent magnets are attached to the pump's drive assembly. The driving magnet is connected to a second shaft driven by the motor, which rotates the magnet when the motor is turned on. The magnetic force from the motor's magnet enables the magnet in the impeller to rotate, thus turning the impeller.
Magnetic pumps are centrifugal pumps, meaning that the liquid pumped through the system exits at a different point than where it was drawn into the pump. The rotation of the impeller causes an increase in the energy of the liquid and raises the pressure at which the liquid exits the pump. This increase in pressure is what allows the fluid to move.
